Christopher Harris, CS
General Manager and Sommelier
Christopher Harris joined Vie in 2014 as the general manager and sommelier. “At Vie, I strive to showcase engaging, fun wines that complement the soul of Chef Paul’s cuisine,” Harris says.
Harris, a Chicago native, began his restaurant industry career in 2007 at Viand, where he quickly discovered his knack for hospitality. He was first bitten by the wine bug during his tenure at Graham Elliot’s eponymous restaurant, while working under the tutelage of sommelier and general manager Jamie Kluz. Harris went on to join the opening staff of Michelin-starred Grace, where his love of wines from the Loire and Rhône valleys deepened under wine director Michael Muser.
Currently Harris is preparing to sit for the Advanced Sommelier exam through the Court of Master Sommeliers.
A classically trained vocalist, Harris says that music is his first passion, but wine is a very close second. Away from work, he also enjoys watching sports, opera, theater and movies; exploring Chicago’s food scene; and spending time with his two dogs, Gypsy and Max.
