Chefs and restaurants that are dedicated to sourcing local ingredients inevitably develop strong connections with the hardworking farmers who grow that fresher, tastier and more varied produce we and our diners so appreciate.

Please join us on August 30 to help support one of those beloved local farms, Genesis Growers. Located 70 miles south of Chicago in St. Anne, Genesis has had a very rough summer, due to all the heavy rains and flooding earlier in the season. After spending countless hours planting, farmer Vicki Westerhoff and the rest of the Genesis team watched the water wash away many of their crops — and much of their livelihood.

Chef Paul has gathered a group of excellent Chicago chefs (all of whom serve Genesis produce at their restaurants) to come together for the August 30 fundraiser. Attendees will enjoy a reception-style meal with delicious dishes created by the participating chefs, plus festive beverages and some really good company. We’ll also have a silent auction featuring items donated by the chefs and others.

Vicki, along with her son and daughter and two Genesis staff members, will join us at the event. She’ll share the ups and downs and everything in between of practicing sustainable, natural farming and providing a living wage to workers.

We hope to see you on August 30 to help show support and gratitude to Vicki and Genesis, while enjoying fabulous food, drinks and conversation.

All money raised will go directly to Genesis Growers.
